PORTSMOUTH — It is too often said that people don't think anymore. And, of course, unless one is dead, this is otherwise impossible.

In fact, in this commercialized world and with the advancements of technology, people have more to think about than ever. Certainly, it would seem, people have more to think about now than people did in 1904 when Augusté Rodin's sculpture "The Thinker" was unveiled.

A quick poll asking people what they think about will illustrate the many different things people are thinking about from world peace, soccer and global warming to sailing, creative writing, hiking and fast cars. It would be more clearly and correctly stated that people don't think anymore — about the same things. They are thinking about what they want to think about.

In that sense, "Think What You Want" designs represent the spirit of such independent thinking, in T-short form. These fun and creative designs are a way of telling the world that you are thinking what you want.

"Think What You Want" designs are a recent product from Slim Famous, a product and brand development company in Portsmouth.

"There is a great thinker within all of us if we are thinking about the things we are passionate," says Slim Famous founder Brent Beckett. "'Think What You Want' designs have been developed for you to quietly let people know you are busy thinking about what is important to you. We can put an end to the accusations that people don't think anymore."

Each design combines the image of a topic with a corresponding, witty tagline. These designs were originally developed during a time when the media, advertising, athletes and other celebrities were promoting trash-talking and in-your-face messages. "Think What You Want" is your reply that you will think about what you want.

"Think What You Want" designs have had great success in the initial introduction to the marketplace. They were featured in the Fox Run Mall during the holiday season and were featured in a gift-buying guide where they sold very well, Beckett said. "Think Snow" was the introductory design and the few remaining are selling quickly on eBay, where they are advertised as one of the softest and most comfortable shirts available.

"T-shirts are a great product because they span all of the demographics," Beckett said. "Old or young, rich or poor, everyone likes a good T-shirt. The response on the 'Think' line has been overwhelmingly positive and more than I had expected. People absolutely love them."

On this particular project Beckett has teamed up with his brother Brian, who lives in Colorado. As with all Slim Famous products, a portion of the proceeds goes to benefit a cause; in this case, the Becketts are focusing on Alzhiemer's.

"We have experienced the challenges of family members suffering from Alzhiemer's and we are passionate about this cause," said Beckett.

"A thought-provoking design based on using the mind is the perfect product for creating awareness about Alzhiemer's," he added.

Slim Famous is known for such original products as "A Tree Story" and '"Ruff Tools," as well as, helping other entrepreneurs develop original products of their own. Beckett,is is currently working with a few other T-shirt entrepreneurs launch lines of their own, including a "Go Green" line..
